Very substantial knife! Good heft; feels like you have a great piece of steel in your hands. Did not cut paper out of the box, but I did not buy this to make sushi; i have high carbon Japanese knives for that. I hike a lot in the woods and I wanted a knife for protection in the event (hope it never happens) an animal attacks. After having a dog with huge teeth charge me in a park, as I stand defenseless, I decided that I need something for the woods instead of the pocket knife I always carry. I wrapped the handle with some tennis racket handle tape for added grip.

The reason I am giving a 3 star review is the fact that when the bayonet arrived there was a huge ding in the blade. Took me about half an hour of stone work to fix it. When I spend over $100 on a knife I expect the blade to be perfect not damaged.

This is an excellent example of the fine tools that Ontario makes. I bought this for my AR15, civilian model, and also bought the bayonet attachment to fit on my AR15. Otherwise the bayonet will be a loose fit. Put a modest edge on it using the Spyderco Tri-angle Shapemaker. I have several other Ontario products, and they all perform excellently. You will not be disappointed.

I bought this with the knowledge that Ontario is the top knife maker for military bayonets these days because I believe everything I read on the internet! Seriously, I was pleasantly satisfied with this purchase. The knife and sheath were well constructed, and it met all my expectations. If the apocalypse ever hits, I can mount this to my AR or my shotgun. I'm thinking shotgun will be my first choice. I'm glad I didn't go with a cheaper knockoff.
