Description
The US Army Signal Whistle is an authentic US Army item that was produced during the Vietnam War era. Each whistle is marked U S and GPI 1971 making this whistle part of the production made for service in the Vietnam War.
These signal whistles were and still are important pieces of US Army issued field gear. They are extremely loud making them great to signal troops who are far away. They can also be used as a distress signal in the woods as the sound will carry very far.

I thought it would be a good addition to have on hand as I do many outdoor activities a long way away in the backwoods by myself at times. Very fortunate to find this little gem!

I had one of these, lost it recently.. But I plan on buying again soon. Amazingly simple, yet louder than a lot of metal whistles. Heavy duty, Cheap, Authentic USGI Vietnam Era, and unbeatable in quality. Cheap Mil-Spec whistles belong in the trash, while these belong around your neck with a good paracord strand wherever you go. Can't always yell for help and be loud enough, you might need one of these! Just try not to lose it on a hike!

Be careful folks.. This whistle is so loud that when you blow it hard at all, it will leave your ears ringing. Which is ideal for its purpose, making an unbeatable survival whistle.
Heavy gauge plastic molding, bombproof and overbuilt like all military vintage. I don't know why, but I love this whistle, just received my second order and couldn't be happier. Brand new condition with a little sign of storage scuff.
Probably one of THE most important pieces of kit you can have out in the woods or camping.. I have zero doubts this whistle in particular could be heard for over a mile away. Also a cool bit of vintage history and a rare item I've never seen outside of keep shooting, seems exclusive for here alone.
The price is absolutely fantastic for the quality and function. Again the plastic is heavy heavy gauge but light in weight. Compatible whistles will cost you much more. Going to add a third one for my next order just to have one in every kit.
