I have small hands and the grip is extremely comfortable. It is also very lightweight.
If you do your research prior to purchase you will find that this gun tends to be ammo picky (not unlike the Sig Mosquito). You will also find that it prefers to be “fed” a higher velocity ammo to cycle the slide properly.
The first time I took it out was a bit frustrating because all I had was Federal bulk (red box, 36 grain-1260 fps copper plated hollow points) and I had several FTFs and FTEs, most of which only required a manual rack of the slide to fix.
Since then I have tried CCI Stingers (32 grain-1640 fps, 1 stovepipe out of 50) Aguila Super Extra copper plated hollow points (38 grain-1280 fps, 1 stovepipe out of 50) CCI standard (40 grain-1070 fps), Winchester Super X copper plated hollow points (varmint 37 grain-1280 fps, , CCI Blazers (40 grain-1235 fps), and Remington Thunderbolts (40 grain-1255 fps) with no problems.
, I'd like to point out that I have cleaned and lubed it every time I have gone to the range (especially important if you are using uncoated lead).
I am overall very pleased with this lil pistol :)
I love shooting this pistol. It's fun and accurate to shoot. Like another reviewer, having only a 10rd mag feels a little limiting. But, I got a few extra on order from here to solve that somewhat ;-). The only other thing, I have had the second round not load a few times. Not sure yet what is happening, I'm new to these and need to learn more about what could be going on there, but it has happened several times and just a quick rack of the slide loads that second round and it doesn't do it again. It has always only been on the second round.
I have put around 200 rounds through it without any problems and it is an accurate shooter. Disassemble and reassembly for cleaning is a bit difficult, a fine gun other than that.
GOT A USED ONE I WORKES WELL AND I WAS WORRIED AFTER MANY REPORTS OTHER WISE AND AMMO SENSITIVITY
The Walther p22 is worth every penny...and if you buy it here its even a better deal. I haven't seen this price except at gunshows and having to haggle. Just found this site and I love it!!!
These little 22s are great! Very nice handguns mine is accurate and very reliable. I would buy another.
I like this little gun. I thought it would be dainty and fragile but I was wrong. Fits my big hands well and is fun to shoot. Very accurate and cheap to shoot. Down side is the 10rd mags but still a nice little concealable pistol that even my 10 yr old can shoot.
