Great kit for the DIY gun tinkerer. There are bits for everything most people will ever do at a fraction of the cost of some professional sets. Yes, the bits are softer than regular screw drivers... It's supposed to be that way. In all honesty; if you don't understand the difference, maybe you should take some time to study a little more before you start tearing into firearms.
