The Winchester Repeating Arms Company was founded by Oliver Winchester in 1866. Since the company's inception, it has been a leading designer of innovative arms ammunition, responsible for some of the world's most popular cartridges, including the .50 BMG and the .308 Winchester. Today, however, we are only interested in the Winchester .38 Special +P jacketed hollow points that come packed in our Winchester Super-X .38 Special +P ammunition.
Our Winchester .38 Special +P ammunition is a product from the Winchester "Super-X" line. This product line has existed for years and is not only marked by its consistently high performance and outstanding value, but also its proven accuracy, positive functioning and high velocity. It is sold by the box, each of which contains 50 cartridges. Ordinarily, a big red "X" is a warning sign. With Winchester Super-X, it is an invitation. Winchester ammunition is manufactured in the United States by the Olin Corporation at the Winchester Centerfire Operations Facility in Oxford, Mississippi.
As noted, all of our Winchester .38 Special +P ammunition contains 50 non-corrosive, brass-cased cartridges. Each cartridge contains a 125 gr jacketed hollow point bullet, which provides for increased muzzle velocities as well as increased tissue damage and maximum stopping power. As +P-rated bullets, this ammunition features muzzle velocities that have been observed to travel at speeds of up to 945 fps. At 5 yards, a distance typical of self-defense, the drop in velocity is minimal.
What better way to pay tribute to one of America's most iconic centerfire cartridges is there than by picking up a few boxes of our Winchester .38 Special +P ammunition today? Consider our Winchester .38 Special +P ammunition for:
- Personal protection
- Target shooting
- Sport shooting
