Zastava Arms
Authorized Dealer
Zastava Arms has been manufacturing military weapons in Kragujevac, Serbia since 1853 — one of the oldest continuously operating arms factories in the world, with over four million M70 rifles produced and exported to more than 40 countries. The ZPAP series brings that 170-year military heritage to the civilian market with bulged RPK trunnions, 1.5mm stamped receivers, and chrome-lined cold hammer forged barrels that have made Zastava the gold standard for AK-pattern rifles.
About Zastava Arms
Zastava Arms is one of the oldest continuously operating arms factories in the world, founded in 1853 in Kragujevac, Serbia — where the same facility has been manufacturing military weapons through the Balkan Wars, both World Wars, and every conflict in between for over 170 years. With more than four million M70 assault rifles produced and exported to over 40 countries, Zastava brings genuine military-grade manufacturing to the U.S. civilian market through the ZPAP rifle and pistol series, imported and serviced by Zastava Arms USA.
The Zastava ZPAP M70 has become the definitive recommendation for AK-pattern rifles in the American market — and for good reason. Every ZPAP M70 is built on a 1.5mm stamped steel receiver that is 50% thicker than a standard AKM, paired with a bulged RPK-pattern front trunnion originally designed for sustained automatic fire in light machine guns. The 16.3-inch barrel is cold hammer forged and chrome-lined for extreme longevity with corrosive and steel-cased ammunition, and the entire rifle is manufactured in the same Kragujevac factory that has armed the Serbian military for over a century. These specifications — bulged trunnion, heavy receiver, chrome-lined CHF barrel — have made the ZPAP M70 the benchmark against which all other imported AK rifles are measured.
The ZPAP lineup extends well beyond the M70. The ZPAP M90 chambers 5.56 NATO in an AK platform with an 18.25-inch chrome-lined barrel, adjustable gas block, and bolt hold-open on the last round — making it one of the only AK-pattern rifles that accepts standard NATO ammunition and features a last-round hold-open. The PAP M77 brings the Zastava AK action to .308 Winchester with a 19.7-inch chrome- lined barrel, adjustable gas block, and 20-round proprietary magazines. The ZPAP M92 and M85 AK pistols offer the same bulged trunnion and 1.5mm receiver construction in compact 10-inch barrel configurations chambered in 7.62x39mm and 5.56 NATO respectively. Zastava also produces the M93 Black Arrow anti-materiel rifle in .50 BMG and the CZ999 series of modern service pistols.
Zastava's Kragujevac factory is 95% vertically integrated — manufacturing nearly every component in-house from raw materials, a level of production autonomy almost unheard of in modern firearms manufacturing. The facility has produced over one million Mauser- pattern rifles, hundreds of thousands of M48 bolt-actions, and four million M70 Kalashnikov-pattern rifles since its founding. It has survived Ottoman-era conflicts, two World Wars, NATO bombing in 1999, and international sanctions — and continues to operate as a cornerstone of the Serbian defense industry, ISO 9001 certified and listed as a United Nations verified arms supplier since 2005.
