a great .410 valueI was fortunate to get this gun used from a friend in 1989 for $125. It also had an extra full butt stock, sling and Cordura shoulder case. Mine is cyl. bore but still throws a nice pattern and with buck or slugs, wow. A great pack or camp gun. Useful for any kind of varmints.
Light weight, 3" chamber, about 28" length, six shot (2.5") can be fired one handed, 5.5 pounds and 20" barrel.
It ain't no .44 but will definitely do the job. Be mindful of "short stroking".

Better Choice than a 12 ga for (Internal) Home DefenseThe short tactical configuration of this shotgun allows it to be easily handled, aimed, and fired in closely confined surroundings. More importantly, however, the discharge of a .410 ga shotshell within a house will likely not result in permanent deafness to the shooter and occupants, which is a definite and rarely acknowledged drawback of 12 ga shotguns. With the pistol grip stock, the gun can easily be fired from the hip with practice, and recoil is very manageable, allowing for quick follow-up shots. Pump action is smooth & reliable with most types of .410 ga ammo (YMMV), and there are many types of specialized personal and home-defense ammo which can be used effectively with this shotgun. Build quality is, as typical with Mossberg products, excellent.
