I like these. #5 plastic (polypropylene - one of the better ones), food safe (as plastic goes). Good for sugar, wheat germ, salt (for that neti pot), and other similar stuff. A little hard for plastic - I have not broken one yet, though; nor have I measured with durometer. Dishwasher safe. Happy in the kit.
