Rothco's ACU Digital Camo BDU Shorts take the cut of the classic BDU (Battle Dress Uniform, the long-running US military field uniform) and shorten it to above the knee for hot-weather wear. The print is ACU digital, the pixelated gray-green and tan pattern associated with the US Army Combat Uniform. They suit range days, camp, outdoor work and everyday wear when you want the storage of field pants without the heat.

Features

• 55/45 Cotton-Poly Twill — The blend of 55% cotton and 45% polyester is woven as twill, a diagonal weave that holds up to abrasion better than a plain weave.
• ACU Digital Camo Pattern — The pixelated pattern mixes gray-green and sand tones in small square blocks.
• Six-Pocket Layout — Two front slash pockets, two rear pockets and two side cargo pockets give you room for a phone, wallet, keys and small gear.
• Flapped Side Cargo Pockets — Large cargo pockets on each thigh close under a covering flap, with internal drawstrings to keep loose items from shifting.
• Rear Button-Down Pockets — Both back pockets have button-down flaps so a wallet stays put when you sit or kneel.
• Button Fly — The front closes with buttons in the traditional BDU style instead of a zipper.
• Adjustable Waist Tabs — Pull-tab adjusters at the sides let you cinch the waist for a closer fit.

Fabric and Fit

These are commercial shorts made by Rothco in the BDU pattern, not government-issue surplus. The cotton in the twill keeps them comfortable against the skin, while the polyester adds strength and helps the fabric hold its shape and color through washing. The hem sits just above the knee, and the side tabs give you some adjustment at the waist with or without a belt.
