A stripped lower receiver, the serialized part of an AR-15 that holds the trigger and controls, does nothing until its small parts are installed. This United Defense lower parts kit supplies them in one bag: the fire control group, the controls, the pins and springs, and an A2-style pistol grip. It suits a first-time builder finishing a lower, and an owner who wants a full set of replacement parts on the bench.

• Fire Control Group — The hammer, trigger and disconnector, with their springs, make up the mechanism that releases the hammer when you press the trigger.
• Safety Selector — A standard two-sided lever sets the rifle to safe or fire and is retained by its own detent and spring.
• Bolt Catch — This lever holds the bolt open on an empty magazine and lets you lock it back by hand.
• Magazine Catch And Button — The catch, spring and push button hold the magazine in the well and release it on demand.
• Takedown And Pivot Pins — These two pins join the upper and lower receivers and let the rifle open for cleaning.
• A2-Style Pistol Grip — A black polymer grip with a textured surface and finger swell comes with its screw and lock washer.
• Trigger Guard — The hinged guard closes the bottom of the trigger opening and is held with a roll pin.

Fit And Compatibility

The parts follow the standard AR-15 pattern, so they are made for a standard stripped AR-15 lower receiver. The buffer tube, buffer, buffer spring and stock are separate assemblies and are not part of this kit. Several parts install with roll pins and spring-loaded detents, so a set of roll pin punches and an AR-15 armorer's guide will make assembly easier.
