Description
US Army ATOM Marker
This is a US Army atomic hazard warning sign, made to flag ground or areas affected by a nuclear or radiological hazard. It is a point-down triangle of white reflective vinyl with a black border and the word ATOM in heavy block capitals, so the message reads at a glance. Collectors of US military markings, reenactors and anyone building a display of hazard signage will want it for its authentic government issue.
Features
- Retroreflective Vinyl Face — The diamond-pattern sheeting returns light toward its source, so a flashlight or headlight picks the sign out in the dark.
- Bold ATOM Lettering — Large black capitals across the center state the hazard in one word.
- Inverted Triangle Shape — The point-down triangle sets this marker apart from rectangular signs at a distance.
- Black Border — A solid black band runs inside the edge and frames the lettering against the white face.
- Three Mounting Holes — Pre-punched holes along the top edge take wire, cord or zip ties for hanging the sign from a fence, stake or wall.
- Flexible Vinyl Construction — The vinyl body is light and bends without cracking, so it handles easily and mounts on uneven surfaces.
- US Army Issue — This is original government-issue signage, not a commercial novelty print.
Issue and Construction
The sign was made for US Army use, and the design is built around legibility: white reflective vinyl, black border, black text, nothing more. The three holes sit evenly spaced along the flat top edge, which lets it hang level from a line or fasten flat against a backing board. As issued military hazard signage, it carries a provenance that a printed copy cannot match on a wall or in a collection.
