Auto Emergency Kit

The United Defense Auto Emergency Kit pairs a seat belt cutter with a spring-loaded automatic center punch, the two tools you need to get out of a vehicle when the belt or doors will not cooperate. The orange cutter has its blade recessed inside a hooked slot, so it slices through webbing without exposing your fingers to the edge. The brass-tone punch has a knurled grip and a steel tip. Press it against tempered side or rear glass and an internal spring delivers the strike, so you do not need to swing it. Both pieces are compact enough for a glovebox, console or door pocket, which makes the kit a good fit for daily drivers, new drivers and family vehicles.

Description

Two-Tool Vehicle Escape Kit

The United Defense Auto Emergency Kit covers the two problems that can trap someone inside a vehicle after a crash or submersion: a seat belt that will not release and a door that will not open. It contains a seat belt cutter and a spring-loaded automatic center punch for breaking a side window. Both tools are small enough to live in a glovebox, console or door pocket, where the driver or a passenger can reach them quickly.

Features

  • Recessed-Blade Belt Cutter — The blade sits deep inside a hooked slot, so you can hook the webbing and pull through it while your fingers stay clear of the edge.
  • High-Visibility Orange Body — The bright orange plastic housing is easy to spot in a cluttered glovebox or a dim cabin.
  • Flat, Pocketable Profile — The cutter is thin and flat, so it fits in a door pocket, sun visor or console tray without taking up space.
  • Automatic Center Punch — Press the tip against the glass and an internal spring releases a sharp strike, with no swinging or hammering needed.
  • Knurled Grip — Fine cross-hatched knurling along the brass-tone body gives a secure hold, even with wet or gloved hands.
  • Hardened Steel Tip — A pointed steel tip concentrates the spring's force on a small spot of glass.
  • Two Tools, One Kit — One tool frees you from the belt and the other opens an exit through a side window.

How The Two Tools Work

To use the cutter, hook the slot over the belt webbing at an angle and pull it across in one firm stroke. To use the center punch, place it against a corner of a side or rear window and push until the spring fires. It is designed for tempered side and rear glass, which shatters into small pieces. It is not suited to laminated windshields, which hold together when struck.
