Rothco's Black Camo BDU Shorts take the cut of the U.S. military Battle Dress Uniform (BDU), the field uniform American forces wore for decades, and shorten it to above the knee for warm weather. You get six pockets, a button fly and adjustable waist tabs in a hard-wearing cotton and polyester blend. They suit training, range days and outdoor work, and they work just as well for everyday wear.

Fabric And Fit

Rothco is a commercial tactical clothing maker, and these are new-made shorts built to the BDU pattern, not government-issued surplus. The 55% cotton and 45% polyester fabric is lighter and more comfortable in heat than a heavy pure-cotton twill, and it stands up to frequent washing. The relaxed, straight-leg cut ends just above the knee and leaves room to move, and the side tabs fine-tune the waist between sizes.
