This is a British Army parachutist smock in DPM, the Disruptive Pattern Material woodland camouflage used by UK forces for decades. It is the longer-cut airborne field jacket worn over fighting order, with a tail that extends well past the waist for extra coverage. It was built for paratroopers and airborne support units who need a jacket that stays out of the way of a harness and holds plenty of gear.
