British DPM Winter Hat

This is the British Army's cold weather cap, made to keep the head, ears and neck warm when a beret or field cap is not enough. A short peak keeps weather off the face, and a deep pile-lined flap folds down to wrap the ears and the back of the neck. It suits hunters, campers, winter walkers and anyone building an authentic British Army kit.

Features

• DPM Woodland Camouflage — The shell is printed in DPM (Disruptive Pattern Material), the British Army's four-color woodland camouflage of green, brown, tan and black.
• Short Stitched Peak — A compact brim with rows of stitching holds its shape and shields the eyes from rain, snow and low sun.
• Fold-Down Ear And Neck Flap — A continuous flap drops down to cover both ears and the back of the neck when the temperature falls.
• Olive Green Pile Lining — Thick, shaggy pile lines the flap and the inside of the hat, trapping warm air close to the head.
• Hook-And-Loop Chin Closure — A hook-and-loop tab (the same fastening as Velcro) on the flap lets you close the flaps under the chin against wind.
• Flaps-Up Wear — In milder weather the flap folds up over the crown, turning the pile outward and leaving the ears free.
• Cotton, Polyester And Wool Construction — The hat combines cotton, polyester and wool for a weather-facing shell and a warm lining.

The hat was issued to British troops as part of their cold weather clothing and carries the same DPM print found on British Army smocks and trousers of the period.
