Rothco Bush Pro Machete

The Rothco Bush Pro is a long steel machete for cutting back brush, vines, saplings and overgrowth around a camp, trail, property line or hunting spot. It has a straight spine, a full-length edge and a widened, curved tip that puts weight forward for chopping. An olive drab sheath comes with it, so the blade can be carried and stored covered.

• Steel Blade — The long, flat blade is made for repeated swinging cuts through brush and light wood.
• Black Finish — The blade is coated black from the handle to the tip, giving it a matte, low-glare look.
• Forward-Weighted Tip — The blade widens and curves toward the point, which moves the balance forward and adds force to each chop.
• Straight Spine — The unsharpened back edge runs straight from handle to tip, so you can rest a hand or thumb on it for control.
• Screw-Fastened Handle — Black molded handle scales, the two side panels of the grip, are held to the blade by a row of screws.
• Hooked Pommel — A lip at the butt of the handle helps keep the machete from sliding out of a sweaty or gloved hand mid-swing.
• OD Green Sheath — The included sheath is olive drab (OD green) textured fabric shaped to follow the blade's curved tip.
• Riveted Sheath Edge — Metal rivets run along the sheath's seam to reinforce the edge where the blade rides.

Blade and Sheath Build

Rothco built the Bush Pro around a simple layout: a steel blade, a black synthetic grip fastened with screws, and a fabric sheath with an open top for quick draw and return. Because the sheath is cut to the blade's profile, the curved tip sits fully covered. That keeps the edge off your gear in a truck bed, pack or tool shed.
