Quality feel
Review by Stewart U.
The coating on the blade had a few spots that looked thinner than other spots. But very happy with the quality and feel. Appeared to be new but it was probably sitting in the box new for years id say.

Once a Marine always a Marine...
Review by Cimberly C.
I was in the Marine Corps 1987 to 1991 the buck M9 bayonet they issued me sucked to say the least and I did not want to carry a big K Bar so I managed to get my hands on a Glock model 81 field tool and that saved my life in a town called Asur Iraq in 1990. But since this is a prototype that was given for the Marines back in the day I compared it to the quality of a k bar which is actually made by Ontario Knife Company. That's a very high quality knife don't get me wrong but if you could see this knife hold it in your hand you would appreciate and fall in love with it so much that you would wish you had one of these as I do now back then in the day so to speak. I would hands down take this knife into combat any day of the week versus the K Bar. If you were to get your hands on one of these you would understand what I'm talking about. God bless let's pray for our country and all the craziness going on in it to end and that's all just try to get along cuz life is so very short.

The Best KaBar Alternative!
Review by Lavetta T.
This model is closer to the “KaBars” we used in the Marine Corps because of the Parkerized or phosphate coated blade. I own this and the KaBar manufactured Marine Combat knives and like both, but this is closer to the original. The sheath and handle are genuine leather but could use some oil to preserve and darken the leather. Nice EGA stamped on the sheath. Top edge of the clip point is sharpened, unlike those made by KaBar. Overall excellent product!

"Authentic Reproduction . . . "?
Review by Arnesha Q.
Like other reviewers, I agree this knife compares favorably to the fabled Ka-Bar, while costing less, and the leather sheath is also well made. Back in the day, the Case model wasn't officially adopted, but it should have been. This is one serious piece of hardware.

Great Classic Knife
Review by Shaquan F.
I have the Ontario version. I am 90% positive I'm going to be buying this one. FYI to all the misinformed individuals out there that left one and two stars for the handle and the guard being loose, you were supposed to soak the knife in water for about 30 minutes to allow the leather grommets to swell and anything loose should firm up. Allow knife to stand and dry. Treat the handle with any desired leather products and you’re good to go! :-)

Great product
Review by Talea Z.
Despite some of the bad reviews that I read while searching I decide to get it anyways and it came with a real leather sheath and handle and it was all high quality the handle could be a little nicer finished but it will look better over time with use and the knife was sharp and also it was a nice finish on the blade and the sheath was very good quality

Close to as issued MKII fighting knife as your going to get without breaking the bank.
Review by Melony Z.
It’s like holding history in my hands, it will go well with my M-1 carbine and M-1 Garand. The craftsmanship, fit and finish was beyond my expectations, for a GI fighting knife. The parkerizing wasn’t splotchy and was even, there are some shinney spots on the cross guard from rattling around in a cardboard box since 1992. For 69.00 and free shipping, you can’t beat it. Now to find some lexol for the leather.

My only gripe was that the knife arrived inside its sheath and not in a cardboard sleeve covering the blade. If it was a display model, it was in excellent condition.

Almost bought the Other Brand!
Review by Christinea R.
So smart to have pulled the trigger on the CaseXX knife, positive reviewers weren’t wrong. This knife has the look and feel of a WW2 fighting knife and didn’t have to brother with any auction site and lose the bid or end up paying thru the nose.
Maybe it’s the fact that all metal parts are parkerized (Blade, Hilt and Pommel) rather than powder coated like the other brand. Although, the Blade’s False Edge, I would have preferred it left not sharpened like the other brand.
Leather spacers on the handle are tight with absolutely no play, but were extremely dry with a weathered appearance as pictured on Amazon’s product page for this item. Two applications of “Pecard Antique Leather Dressing” restored the leather’s natural luster and color.
Sheath’s nice too. More robust than that of my Ka Bar (Kill Bear) Sheath. Even though CaseXX was a bit sloppy applying the contrasting leather dye to the stamped lettering and went outside the borders of the text. Still a keeper!

Great knife, a great suprise
Review by Nastasha W.
I was very hesitant in buying this knife. My USMC buddy has a couple originals from when case had the USMC contract before Kabar. We didnt think it would be the same but we were both very suprised that it was such a good quality knife and not terribly expensive. Will buy again.

1992

Stamped with 1992, assuming that's the year it was made, seems just like the old ww2 ones, don't like the new ka bars as much as this

Better than the KABAR
Review by Neiko Y.
If your looking for a USMC fighting knife that is an exact copy of the ones used during WWII, this is it. In my opion this knife is better than the KABAR made knives. This one has the correct round handle, not oval like on the KABAR. It’s more “beefy” in the hands and feels nicer. The blade also has the correct finish, not painted like the KABAR style knife. Quality, fit, and finish of knife and sheath is A+++. I own both the CASE and KABAR knives, hands down the CASE wins.

Hand Guard Loose and Leather Handle Loose
Review by Gaylon J.
Good looking knife other than the fact that hand guard is loose. I read comments before purchasing and saw that others had the same problem and took a chance anyway, too bad. I've knocked this down to two stars now as I've also noticed the leather handle is loose too.
