Desert Digital BDU Shorts
These Rothco shorts follow the cut of the BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) trouser, the US military field uniform pattern, shortened to just above the knee for hot weather. The desert digital camo is a pixelated pattern in sand, tan and brown that suits dry, open terrain. They work for range days, camping, airsoft and everyday summer wear, and they have the pocket space of a cargo pant without the heat.

- Desert Digital Camo — Small square pixels of light sand, tan and brown break up your outline against dry ground and scrub.
- Cotton And Polyester Blend — The fabric pairs cotton for comfort and breathability with polyester for added strength and less shrinking.
- Six-Pocket Layout — There are two front slash pockets, two thigh cargo pockets and two rear pockets, so phone, keys, wallet and small gear each have a place.
- Bellowed Cargo Pockets — Pleated sides let the thigh pockets expand to hold bulkier items, and a flap closes over the top to keep things in.
- Flapped Rear Pockets — Both back pockets have covering flaps to keep a wallet secure when you sit, crouch or move.
- Waist Adjustment Tabs — Side tabs on the waistband let you cinch the fit, which helps if you sit between sizes.
- Belt Loops — Loops around the waistband take an everyday or duty belt.
- Above-Knee Length — The legs end just above the knee, which leaves room to kneel and climb without the fabric binding.
Build And Fit
Rothco is a commercial maker of military-style clothing, and these shorts are new production, not surplus. The pattern copies the classic BDU trouser: a straight leg, a buttoned waistband, side adjusters and a full cargo pocket setup. They have a loose, practical fit that sits well with a tucked or untucked T-shirt and low-cut boots, as shown in the photographs.

How to Measure: Measure horizontally from end to end around the waistband for the waist. For the hip width, measure horizontally from the outside of one leg hole to the other. The inseam length can be found by measuring from the crotch down to the end of the BDU Shorts. To find the outseam length, measure from the top edge of the waistband to the bottom edge of the hem.

Held up all camping season longBought these for my boyfriend for our camping trips and he practically lived in them all summer. He does a lot of bushwhacking and crawling around setting up tents and firewood and these shorts survived everything without a single tear. The desert camo pattern still looks good after like 20 washes too, hasnt faded much at all. He keeps his knife and flashlight in the cargo pockets and says they dont sag even when loaded up. Took off one star only cause they wrinkle pretty bad if you dont fold them right out of the dryer but honestly for work shorts who cares.
