The FallTech 8247Y Ironman is a 6-foot twin-leg energy-absorbing lanyard built for extended 12-foot free-fall protection when overhead anchorage isn't available. Great lanyard for foot level tie offBeen using this on structural steel jobs where theres no overhead anchor point and I gotta tie off at my feet. The 12 foot free fall rating is a HUGE deal because most lanyards only do 6 foot and that doesnt work when your anchor is below you. The twin legs let me stay connected 100% of the time when im moving between beams which is exactly what you need up there. My only gripe is the steel snap hooks add some real weight to this thing, by end of shift you definitely feel it hanging off your harness. But honestly id rather have the heavy steel hooks than aluminum ones that might not hold up on a real jobsite. The internal shock absorber is nice and clean too, no external pack flopping around getting snagged on stuff.
