Federal American Eagle 40 S&W Ammo 155 Grain FMJ

40 S&W Range Ammo

Federal American Eagle 40 S&W 155 grain FMJ is practice ammunition for shooters who put real round counts through a .40 pistol. It is loaded for target shooting, training and drills, where you want consistent, affordable rounds rather than defensive hollow points. Each box holds 50 centerfire pistol cartridges, made in the USA by Federal.

Features

• 40 S&W Caliber — Loaded for any firearm chambered in .40 Smith & Wesson, one of the most common duty and carry pistol cartridges in the US.
• 155 Grain Bullet — Bullet weight is 155 grains (there are 7,000 grains to a pound), a lighter option within the usual .40 S&W range.
• Full Metal Jacket — FMJ means the lead core is enclosed in a harder copper jacket, which feeds smoothly and keeps lead fouling in the barrel down.
• 1,160 FPS Muzzle Velocity — The load leaves the muzzle at 1,160 feet per second (about 354 m/s).
• 463 Ft-Lbs Muzzle Energy — Rated muzzle energy is 463 foot-pounds (about 628 joules).
• Reloadable Brass Cases — Brass cases can be collected after the session and reloaded by handloaders.
• Non-Corrosive Primers — The primers leave no corrosive salts behind, so they won't encourage rust in the bore between cleanings.
• Clean-Burning Powder — The powder formulation is designed to burn cleanly and cut down on residue in the action.
• 50-Round Box — Each box contains 50 cartridges, a convenient quantity for a single range trip.
• Made In The USA — Federal manufactures American Eagle ammunition in the United States.

Build And Compatibility

American Eagle is Federal's training line, built around brass cases, non-corrosive primers and FMJ bullets. Use it only in firearms chambered for .40 S&W, and check your owner's manual for any specific ammunition guidance. Because FMJ bullets are made to penetrate and hold together, not to expand, this load is meant for paper, steel and practice, not for self-defense or hunting.
