Factory SCAR 17S Magazine

This is the factory FN magazine for the SCAR 17 and SCAR 17S, holding 20 rounds of .308 Winchester or 7.62x51mm NATO. FN builds it for its own battle rifle, so it fits and feeds the way the rifle was designed to. SCAR owners use it to add spares for range days, training classes or a ready loadout, and to replace worn or questionable aftermarket mags.

• Chrome Silicon Spring — The spring is wound from chrome silicon wire, an alloy chosen for holding its tension through long periods of loading and storage.
• Low-Friction Follower — The follower, the plate that pushes rounds up toward the chamber, is made to slide smoothly against the inside walls.
• Metal Body — The magazine body is metal with ribbed side walls that add stiffness along its length.
• Flat Dark Earth Finish — FDE, a desert tan, covers the lower body and floorplate, with a black upper section that gives it a two-tone look.
• Flared Floorplate — The extended FDE base gives your hand a solid edge to grip when pulling the magazine from a pouch or the rifle.

Build and Compatibility

The magazine is made for the FN SCAR 17 and SCAR 17S. It is a SCAR-specific pattern and is not interchangeable with AR-10 or M14 magazines. Because FN makes it to the same tolerances as the rifle, it seats and locks in the magwell without the fitting problems some third-party magazines have. The side of the body carries a stamped production marking, as the photographs show.
