When selecting military surplus leather gloves you want to consider four factors before buying:
Using these four factors, our French Army leather gloves are an excellent buy:
|Manufacturer||French Army Surplus|
Excellent pair of gloves for shooting or handling rough objects. Don't be alarmed if you pull your hands out to see black material (fabric? dust?) on them after wearing them for the first few times. These will last you for a while!
These gloves would be very stylish if it wasn't for the goofy velcro closure.
Nothwithstanding this (it's easily replaced anyways), these gloves are really good quality for the cash and are very suitable to loght-medium tasks like driving and lifting. Not suitable for construction or heavy protection though.
Good fit, good quality, good buy!
New, leather is in great condition. True to size... L is accurate.
Cuff comes 3" up wrist from base of thumb w/ nice Velcro closure.
I would say the leather is similar to a mid weight work glove thickness.
I really like these gloves, windproof and soft for new leather. They have a weird chemical smell out of the box, but I just sat them out over night and the smell went away. They Fit good and I would recommend them..
Very nice gloves. They are a good fit on my medium size hands. I also bought the Swedish wool liners for colder weather and they work very well as liners for these.
Getting gloves like these anywhere else, you'd likely be spending anywhere from 10-20+ dollars. But its always nice getting military gloves for under 10 bucks. I have about medium sized hands, and a size 7 1/2 is more of my type, but these still feel pretty good on me once adjusted.
Would probably feel even better for someone with larger hands. Would make good driving and motorcycle gloves.
Very comfortable! The leather is very soft and its easy to manipulate your fingers and hands with them on. The leather is a little thinner than I expected, but will still keep your hands warm.
The gloves keep your hands reasonably warm and incredibly comfortable. These gloves are not the thickest by any means, but neither are they paper thin, nor do they allow wind to blow through and into your hands. The thumbs are bit on the larger side, but the rest fits as it should. They are amazing for driving with the windows down, shielding your hands from the chill of the wind, and the straps allow you to slip the wrists of the gloves underneath your jacket, or over if you prefer!
The original label (written in French, presumably) indicates that these were issued back in 1987. Interestingly, it also suggests that these were intended for NBC protection. A quick Google search seems to confirm this, and they did come sealed in a plastic bag. The leather appears to be good quality. A little thinner than I expected, though.
Good soft leather and durable.
Great leather for a small price. Look durable
