French Army Line Cutter

This is a French Army issue parachute line cutter, a compact tool for cutting through suspension lines, cord and webbing. The hooked blade slides out of a polymer handle when you need it and retracts fully inside when you don't. Paratroopers carry a cutter like this to free themselves from tangled lines, and it is just as useful in a pack or vehicle kit for cutting strapping, paracord or seat belts.

Features

• Hook Blade Profile — The cutting edge sits on the inside of the curve, so a line pulled into the hook is drawn onto the edge instead of sliding off the tip.
• Retractable Sliding Blade — The blade runs in a channel inside the handle and withdraws completely, leaving no exposed edge when the tool is stowed.
• Knurled Thumbwheel — A gold-tone metal wheel with a ridged rim rides in a slot along the handle and moves the blade in and out with one thumb.
• OD Green Polymer Handle — The two-piece molded body is olive drab, the standard military green, with a lightly textured surface for grip.
• Integral Finger Guard — A hooked projection at the front of the handle gives your fingers a stop just behind the blade.
• Lanyard Hole — A large round hole at the butt lets you tie the cutter to a harness, vest or keyring with cord so it cannot be dropped.
• Molded Markings — The handle carries a raised "TB" mark on the front and a molded date-clock stamp on the reverse, as found on military-contract plastics.
• Flat, Pocketable Shape — With the blade retracted, the cutter lies flat in a pocket, pouch or sleeve without snagging.
