I got this jacket on sale, and so far it has been working quite well for me. The removable lining is a nice feature so the outer layer doubles as a thinner raincoat. With the liner, this jacket keeps me comfortable at temperatures well below freezing. I also appreciate the reach-through pocket on the right side for easy access to whatever I'm carrying.
I was looking for a replacement for vinyl jacket I bought at Walmart that I had to replace every year as vinyl gets stiff and shreds when it get cold. On sale it was same price as the vinyl jacket. I bought largest size and fit is good. I wish it zipped all the way up, but other than that I like it.
Wind and water resistance as advertised, zip in liner warm n cozy, fur collar is removable, but a nice feature on a cold nite. Wind flap does block breeze when riding cycle, very pleased w/purchase and style of cut. Size58 eq US xl and machine washable , inner pockets on both shell and liner!
Nice. Sturdy quality. Arrived new, labeled Made in France, size 52M (also marked 1999). I'm 5'10" 160 lbs with 33-34 arms and the fit was spot on, even better with the liner out.
Mine had a pass-thru pocket on the lower right to reach inside to your pants pocket or something on your belt. The other pockets are roomy and secure. I took the liner and fur collar off and it makes a good Spring thru Fall motorcycling windbreaker; it's heavier than other windbreakers I've worn.
Al in all, a good value.
These jackets run a little small, and the sleeves are a little short. Quality is good, and I bought it on sale for $20, so a good price.
Totally impressed! Superb quality and very smart looking. Something in a name brand similar to this would easily cost over $100! As others have stated, order a size up for best fit.
I have been looking for a replacement for my windbreaker for years - literally. This jacket is an unbelievable bargain. My only hesitation in ordering it was that the picture's lighting makes the metal snaps look shiny - they're not. I'm 5'-8" and 200 lbs and the 56 fits a little snug with the liner in but not a big deal. Buy one - you won't be disappointed.
Jacket arrived saturday, unfortunately more of the Georgia winter weather happened already. todays temp was mid 30's, so under the jacket i wore just an undershirt and short sleeve tee. jacket was warm, no coldness of any kind. my SUV has no heat, so i drive to the office in a fridge. euro sizes are awkward, but if you mostly wear medium to large shirts, get the large jacket. it also looks better on you than a dummy in the picture. the medium i originally ordered had light blue velcro, the large had black. front pocket is a little insulated, the right pocket isn't a pocket, it's a flap to allow you to get to pants pocket or pistol. zipper is good. it's 3M thinsulate, has the logo. the poppers on the pockets are for show, they are closed via velcro. i'm pretty sure the jacket will be warm in to the 20's without needed my belgium military liner. out of all the available civilian looking jackets you can wear to the office, this maybe the best deal. if you need a jacket that doesn't have POLITZI written on the back, for $35 get one. i was going to get a down-puffed jacket for more money at wally world, glad i didn't.
This jacket is a real great, high quality piece of gear. It has lots of pockets, is very ruggedly built, feels good on the body. It's thin and light weight yet has loft and is very warm. Looks great as well.
One of the best made coats I've seen. Very soft and flexible, Gore Tex, Hidden hood, throat flap, cuffs in sleeves, big pockets, dual zipper that will still unzip, lightweight, removable liner if desired, sheds water and looks great. I ordered the size (XL) and I have 47 chest and it would not fit around me so it will become someone's Christmas present. I would have loved to have my own, but alas not meant to be. Maybe Keep Shooting will get some bigger ones.
I've brought several items from Keep Shooting and have no complaints about any of them. The French MP jacket is, however, the best purchase to date. Extremely good looking jacket, well made, and it functions not only as a rain/windbreaker jacket but one that will keep your body core nice and toasty. The Thinsulate liner does its job very well.
Just got off of a very long motorcycle ride, them temperature was in the 40's, it was raining, and the wind was blowing hard. By the time I got home my hands and feet were wet and extremely cold but the jacket kept my torso covered, dry and warm. Did I mention it cuts through the wind like a windscreen?
While there is a compartment in the jacket for a firearm it is long enough to cover a pistol in a high ride holster. I'm 6'4" and usually require a tall size but in this case it was not an issue.
Recommend it highly and my nephews will probably be getting one for Christmas
Love this jacket! It is extremely comfortable and well made. The range of motion you have while wearing it is better than any other Jacket I have owned. I was a little worried about choosing a size but I went with my usual size and it fit just like I expected it too. The collar also does a great job keeping your neck warm and as a extra plus it is cut low in the front so wearing a scarf with it would be no trouble at all. I have not had a chance to use the good yet but it looks to be extremely water proof. You could spend a whole lot more money on a jacket and not get one half as well made as this one. If your thinking of getting one do it you won't be sorry!
I received the jacket early this week, and the timing couldn't have been better. We have been having a bit of rain here in the Southeast over the past few days. Well, make that a LOT of rain. It was a great time for testing the jacket. After the last few days I can give this jacket all 5's. Not only did it keep me dry, but it stood up to the wind very nicely. I can't wait until (what passes for) winter to arrive here so I can see how it deals with the chill i the air.
The only part of the jacket that wasn't perfect was the hood. I found it to be a bit flimsy for my liking. But that's only because I tend to wear hoods untied, a personal preference. However, I tend to wear a hat most times, so it's no biggie. I am thinking of buying another down the road, just in case. Long story short( I know...too late) This is a great jacket!
Came as advertised, with liner. Brand New with very good fasteners.
Be Advised,,Euro size, so order one size up, if you intend to layer underneath it. Will be ordering more for Christmas presents
The jacket is lightweight and comfortable and the best rain jacket I have ever owned. I have owned hundreds of dollar jackets and they pale in comparison. I live in New England and let me tell you that you will NOT find a better winter jacket period. This jacket is also the best rain jacket I have ever owned as well as the best wind breaker. I mean what more could you ask for. This jacket is so good I will be buying another one for me and my father! Yes, I will own two they are that good.
