The French Navy Wool Peacoat is the jacket you want for any occasion. With the timeless and classic style of a traditional Peacoat it is further accented with the red anchors and stripes on the sleeves. These jackets would be worn by sailors in the French Navy who take great pride in their rich sailing history and their accomplishments for the Republic of France.
One can immediately imagine the sense of pride a French sailor had when wearing one of these wool peacoats while on duty or on shore where they represented the best of the French Navy.

I really like this coat. It looks very nice, and it's made very well. This thing is fairly heavy, and includes a polyester-ish lining. No date on the tag, but it looks like these are from the '80s or '90s.
The insignia can be removed with a seam ripper if you prefer, so you can get a nice-looking coat at low cost without people knowing it's surplus.
Unlike the picture, the color of this coat is more of a navy blue. Which isn't a problem as far as I'm concerned, of course. Still, something to keep in mind.
