    Evidently Not To Be Used As a Hatchet

    <span>Bought this for backpacking to split small pieces of wood for fires. The hatchet head is too thin to split anything and gets stuck and the handle is too short to get a good swing. Tried to baton it through smaller pieces of firewood and it still did not work. This is basically a knife with a hatchet handle. Not sure what Gerber had in mind when they designed this but it wasn't firewood. Save space and weight and go with a good knife. It's simply too light and skinny to be used as a hatchet.</span>
