German Army Flecktarn Gas Mask Bag

Bundeswehr Gas Mask Bag

This is the protective mask bag the German Bundeswehr issued to its soldiers, sized to carry the Dräger gas mask along with its filters. It is cut in Flecktarn, the German army's dotted camouflage pattern of greens, browns and black. Off duty it works as a compact shoulder bag for a mask, a first aid kit, a camera or daily carry. Collectors and reenactors building a Bundeswehr loadout will want it for the real issue item.

Features

• Flecktarn Camouflage — The printed dot pattern breaks up the bag's outline and matches German woodland uniforms and field gear.
• Cotton And Polyester Body — The outer fabric is a cotton and polyester blend, which keeps the bag light and holds its boxy shape around the mask.
• Removable Shoulder Strap — A cotton web strap with a metal slide buckle adjusts for length and unclips when you want to carry the bag another way.
• Rubber Closure Strap — An adjustable rubber tab with punched holes hooks over a stud on the top flap, so you can open it quickly, even with gloves on.
• Fold-Over Top Flap — The flap closes down over the opening and keeps the contents covered from above.
• Hook-And-Loop Side Panel — A strip of hook-and-loop fastener, the same grip-tape style closure found on uniform patches, runs along the lower side.
• Belt Or Shoulder Carry — The fittings let you sling it over a shoulder or mount it on a web belt like the issue setup.
• Compact Footprint — It measures approximately 13.8 x 10.6 x 5.5 in (35 x 27 x 14 cm), holds about 10.8 liters and weighs roughly 1.3 lb (0.6 kg).

Issue Specification

The Bundeswehr issued this pouch as standard protective mask carry for German soldiers, and it was built to hold the Dräger mask and spare filters. Hardware is a mix of metal and plastic, including a metal loop at the top corner for the shoulder strap. Because it is original government issue, the cut, pattern and fittings are the genuine German specification.
