The Rothco GI Type Mechanics Tool Bag is a small zip-top bag for keeping a working set of hand tools together. It follows the boxy canvas tool bag pattern used by US military mechanics: a flat base, a wide zippered mouth, and pockets inside and out. Mechanics, electricians, plumbers and home DIYers use it for a grab-and-go kit that lives in the truck, the garage or under a workbench.

Construction And Size

This is a Rothco reproduction of the GI mechanics bag, made new from heavyweight cotton canvas rather than drawn from military stocks. The rectangular shape and hard bottom let it stand upright on a bench or truck bed with the zipper open. At 11 x 7 x 6 inches it holds a compact kit: a short level, tape measure, hex key set, driver and bits fit in the main compartment and interior pockets with room left over.
