GI Type Mechanics Tool Bag - Coyote

Canvas Mechanics Tool Bag

The Rothco G.I. Type Mechanics Tool Bag is a compact cotton canvas carryall for hand tools, spare parts and the small gear that usually ends up loose in a truck bed or toolbox drawer. G.I. type means it follows the pattern of the classic military-issue mechanics bag. It is a new commercial bag made by Rothco, not surplus. This version comes in coyote brown, the tan-brown shade used across a lot of current tactical gear.

Features

• Cotton Canvas Body — The bag is sewn from a tightly woven cotton canvas that holds its boxy shape and takes the rough handling tools give it.
• Full-Length Top Zipper — A zipper runs the length of the top panel and down the ends, so the main compartment opens wide for loading and finding tools.
• Metal Zipper Pull — A large metal pull is easy to grab with gloves on or with greasy hands.
• Snap-Flap Front Pocket — A wide exterior pocket closes under a flap held by two black snaps, keeping small items in place while giving quick access.
• Stitched Pocket Sections — Vertical stitch lines divide the front pocket so screwdrivers, pens or bits stay upright instead of piling together.
• Wrap-Around Webbing Handles — Twin cotton webbing handles are stitched down the front and back panels, spreading the load across the bag body rather than hanging it from the top seam.
• Coyote Brown Color — The solid coyote brown finish matches other tan and brown tactical kit and hides shop dirt better than lighter canvas.

Build and Everyday Use

The construction is simple: canvas panels, webbing handles, one zippered main compartment and one snap pocket on the front. With no padding or rigid frame, the bag packs down when empty and still sits flat on a bench or garage floor when loaded. Mechanics, hobbyists and anyone building a vehicle or range kit use this pattern for tools, cleaning supplies, cords or first-aid items.
