This is the factory Glock locking block, part number SP01447, for Glock 17 pistols built on a three-pin frame. The locking block is the steel piece seated in the front of the polymer frame. The barrel bears against it each time the pistol fires and cycles, and a worn or damaged block affects how the barrel locks and unlocks.
