Genuine Glock Locking Block

This is the factory locking block for the Glock 17, the part in the frame that controls how the barrel locks to and unlocks from the slide. On firing, the barrel's lower lug rides against the locking block, which tips the barrel down so the slide can travel rearward and cycle the next round. Owners and armorers replace it when the original is worn, damaged or missing, or when rebuilding a frame with genuine Glock parts.

Fit And Installation

The locking block sits in the front of the frame above the trigger guard and is retained by the locking block pin. Swapping it means driving out frame pins and reassembling the trigger group correctly, so anyone unsure of the process should have a Glock armorer or gunsmith do the work. Check that your pistol is a Glock 17 before ordering, since other Glock models use their own locking blocks.
