Description
Becker Harpoon Fixed Blade
The Ka-Bar Becker Harpoon (BK18) is a fixed-blade knife, meaning the blade does not fold, so there is no hinge or lock to wear out or fail under load. It is a mid-size working knife for camp chores, field use and everyday carry on a belt or pack. The blade, handle and sheath all come in a matching coyote brown, and the sheath carries Ethan Becker's signature, marking it as part of the Becker Knife & Tool line Ka-Bar produces.
Features
- Fixed Steel Blade — The steel blade has no moving parts, which suits it to harder cutting work than a folder is built for.
- Coyote Brown Coated Finish — A brown coating covers the blade flats and cuts glare, leaving a bright strip along the sharpened edge.
- Swedged Spine — A swedge, a ground bevel along the top of the blade near the tip, gives the point a slimmer profile for piercing and detail work.
- Spine Jimping — Shallow notches on the spine just ahead of the handle give your thumb a non-slip rest when you choke up for control.
- Contoured Handle Scales — The coyote brown scales are shaped with a finger choil and a swell toward the butt to keep the hand in place.
- Screw-Fastened Construction — Three hex screws hold the handle scales to the tang, so they can be removed for cleaning.
- Lanyard Hole — A slot through the butt takes a cord loop for retention or tying the knife off.
- Becker Knife & Tool Markings — The blade is stamped BK&T KA-BAR with Olean, NY, Ka-Bar's home town.
Sheath And Carry
The knife comes with a molded hard sheath in matching coyote brown, embossed with the KA-BAR logo. Two vertical slots and rows of grommeted holes along both edges give you several ways to mount it on a belt, pack strap or other gear. A black nylon backing with a snap strap wraps over the handle for extra retention while you move.
