These Rothco shorts take the BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) cut, the classic six-pocket military field trouser, and shorten it to a 13.5-inch inseam that sits at or just below the knee. The longer cut and roomier leg give more coverage and freedom of movement than a standard BDU short. They are printed in Woodland Digital camouflage and work for range days, camping, yard work and everyday warm-weather wear.

• Bellows Cargo Pockets — The large thigh pockets have pleated sides that expand to hold bulkier items, and a flap covers each one.
• Button-Flap Rear Pockets — Flaps close over both back pockets to keep a wallet or keys from working loose.
• Adjustable Waist Tabs — Side tabs at the waistband cinch in or let out so the fit can be adjusted without relying on a belt alone.

Fit And Construction

Rothco is a civilian manufacturer of military-style clothing, and these are new commercial shorts, not government-issue surplus. The pattern follows the familiar BDU layout with a relaxed fit through the seat and thigh, and the poly-cotton fabric holds up to regular washing and outdoor use. If you prefer more room than a standard BDU short gives you, the wider leg and longer inseam are the main differences.
