M2HB Barrel Support

This is the barrel support for the M2HB, the heavy-barrel version of the Browning .50-caliber machine gun. It is the perforated tube that sits at the front of the receiver: the barrel passes through it and is held in line by it. United Defense makes this replacement for builders, restorers and collectors who are completing or repairing an M2HB-pattern gun and need the correct front-end part.

Features

• M2HB Pattern — The shape follows the M2HB barrel support, with the flanged receiver end, ported body and front collar in their familiar layout.
• Perforated Cooling Jacket — Rows of large round ports run along the body so air can circulate around the barrel, and the open pattern also cuts weight.
• Flanged Receiver End — The rear end widens into a squared-off flange with two small holes, and this is the end that seats against the front of the receiver.
• Internally Threaded Bore — Threads are cut inside the flanged end, visible through the opening.
• Front Collar — A smooth, raised band finishes the muzzle end of the tube.
• Side Slot — A small rectangular slot is cut through the wall near the rear, matching the layout of the original part.
• Black Finish — An even black finish covers the inside and outside of the tube.
• United Defense Manufacture — This is a commercially made part, not pulled military surplus.

Fit and Construction

The support is a single machined tube. One end is flanged and threaded and the other has a plain collar, and the cooling ports are cut cleanly through the wall in staggered rows. It is meant for M2HB-pattern receivers. Before you fit it, check its mounting flange and threads against the receiver and barrel components you are working with, since parts from different makers and builds can vary.
