Northern Ireland Police Commando Sweater

My hubby has two of these in the forest green and they are perfect! He's 6'4" so if you're 6'3" you may want to go a size down. They are not baggy at all, but not tight either. Very slim fitting. They have that "newness" feeling, but don't worry, it softens up. The sizing chart is correct and accurate, as my hubby is always complaining when we're shopping for clothes and it is NOT! The sweater I received was in the dark green, which is beautiful and rich in color. It is really soft. If I have to pick a fault with it, the first wash or so is rough. Not sure if it is the sweater and I just need to use the nano setting on the dryer to reduce the shrinkage (haven't yet), but it was really rough on the neck area. It has been at least a year since we bought the two we have and we've washed them once or twice. They've not faded and have softened up quite a bit. If they don't, we'll buy another one.

A solid basic military jacket. I use them as my go to fall and spring coat. You can wash them over and over and the fit stays perfect. German manufactured sweaters the best made. The military issued version is much thinner and is great as a midlayer in a heavier fall coat. US ones tend to be bulkier but have longer fit sleeves. The sleeves will almost hit your waistband in most of the brands. This is nice as an oversized jacket and will fit with anything that would fit you normally. Also US issues come to about the bottom of your jeps.

Thinner than expected, but fits well and has held up well.

Bought this to complete a WWII US paratrooper costume. great value and fit just right. i have had other clothing from rothco that is good and the commando sweater lived up to that reputation

Looks great feels great good material, just like a standard german sweater. Worth the money. Just order 1 size bigger than you think you need and it should fit great

Bought this for an older gentleman that wears clothes that hang off of him, but he really liked the quality and weight of this jacket. I will be getting him another in a lighter color. He was pleasantly surprised that the sizing was true to normal standards. I love these sweaters, and if they last as long as the original version I will be happy. This is the only sweater I have ever had that my father wore that lasted more than 15 years, that’s unheard of these days.

2 sizes up XL instead of 2X as this sweater was a size 2 XL & usually fit 2X & wanted an extra large this time. Will shrink to fit

Bought this sweater in XXL and fit is really good. Very comfortable, keeps you warm in chilly evenings and nights. Looks pretty much like in the pic (not like on the pack).

I received my new 'commando' sweater and could hardly wait to wear it, knowing that it had to have quite a bit of nostalgia with the first two being issued to me back in 1968 and 1969. The Navy one was brand new, having just received it today. This review will address both sweaters. The Navy commando sweater is of high quality material and fit perfectly, with an old school touch that brings back the memories of old sweaters worn back in the day. I love it. My Air Force commando was a little different. I've had it for years, wearing it occasionally, it has been washed a number of times and after a thorough cleaning it fits me well, but I don't wear it as much as I do the Navy sweater. It's hard to tell, but it is more heavily faded than the Navy sweater and it has been washed more often than the navy one. Both fit me well and they are of the quality of old fashioned sweaters from yesteryear. The quality of the two are identical, however the new navy commando fits me better than the old air force sweater, just my personal opinion, but the AF sweater is a keeper.

My old olive drab was in bad shape, but it was US-made so I'm keeping it. It was not the weight or quality of these, they're lighter and more modern but fine for work. I just wish they had offered it in khaki. It fits like a standard US army sweater of the era, maybe it's still the same spec, not sure. I will buy again if they offer more colors. Nice to see more US-made clothing available on Amazon, this was a happy surprise!

I think it's made of high quality. To be frank with my real size 66 cm. I couldn't find any of 5XL which is exactly mine. I got L, which was a great length for me and size, and it was a good price. I think this sweater can go to be loved for many times to come.

Great product as I remember my 32 years in the German Armed Forces. Reasonably quick shipping too! I would have given this product 5 Stars, if it wasn't for two little problems with the material which might have been caused by a third party handler. 1. One of the pull tabs on the cuff was torn. It was simply stitched back together. 2. One pocket had one seam out. Also, I didn't see anything inside of the sweater.

I love the sweater. It's a little short in the sleeves but still works with my other long sleeve T's underneath. Also a bit on the slim side but I wanted that.

I wear a size large long sweater or light jacket, so I ordered a size large and it fits perfectly. It's nice, light weight and warm. A tad expensive but that's not unusual with the name, and I would definitely buy it again. This particular color is really cute. I bought it for fall and spring, since my winter sweaters are much thicker. This one is perfect for the moderate fall/spring weather we get here in Oregon, or for a cool day when you don't want to be bundled up in the heavy winter sweater.
