Incredible machete. Very tough, VERY sharp. Can't bend it. It will last a long time. And made in U.S.A.
Only one thing, if you're not used to a D handle tool, be careful. If you're not holding it tightly enough, your hand can move and whack the inside of the D when the machete stops in the wood. But if you wear gloves, and/or hold it tightly enough, that doesn't happen. It was only after the 1st whack for me. You should anyway, just have a firm grip on it. Very nice tool. And couldn't beat the price. Must've been last year's model because it wasn't on Ontario Knife's site. No matter. It's a great tool.

Decent for the price. Everyone says this in the reviews but what does it mean? It came with and edge, not something you could cut paper or steak with, but and edge that felt sharp. For 1/2 inch branches, it holds up fine. I swung low and caught a rock - instant chip. The heat treat or metal could be better to solve this but it feels good in the hand.
Update: Months later - I love it. No major issues after lots of use. 8" trees and all sizes of bushes and vines are no match. Buy a sharpening stone. Cut the hand guard at the bottom and grind smooth to keep from crushing your pinky on a strong blow.

Like a rock. It's a very durable, classic cutlass style machete - decent edge upon arrival, but needed a little fine tuning. Durability wise, though, this thing is a CHAMP. i like it a lot, and have cleared a lot of blackberries with it. I wish it came with a sheath, but you can pick up a generic nylon sheath for pretty cheap that will work in a pinch.

this is a very tough knife, i use it for chopping wood, branches, even taken a few small trees down, and still keeps a great edge even after a day or 2 of hard abuse. i love that it is made of 1095 steel same as my other ontario knife, very thick tough blade, and the heaviness is great for chopping. the only thing i dont like about it is the d handle. the first time i used it i almost broke my pinky knuckle, i took a hack saw and cut it off and rounded the edges with a wire wheel. handle is more comfortable then military issue thats why i prefer this. no need to wrap the handle for me at least. for the price this is about as good as it gets! this is an amazing machete for the woods
