Description
Compact 12ga Pump AOW
The PTR The Jack is a 12 gauge pump-action firearm cut down to 17 inches overall, built for close-quarters defense where a full-length shotgun is awkward to move with. It has no shoulder stock. Instead you get two pistol grips, one behind the trigger and one under the forend, so you hold and run it with both hands. That layout keeps 12 gauge power in a package small enough for vehicles, hallways and tight rooms.
Features
- 12 Gauge Pump Action — You cycle each shell by sliding the forend back and forward, a manual system that does not depend on the load to run.
- 2¾ And 3 Inch Shells — The chamber accepts both standard 2¾ inch and longer 3 inch magnum shells, as marked on the receiver.
- 2+1 Capacity — The tube magazine holds two shells with a third in the chamber, ready to fire.
- 7-Inch Barrel, 17-Inch Overall — At 17 inches long and 4.4 lb (2 kg) unloaded, it stores and carries far more easily than a standard pump gun.
- Hogue OverMolded Grips — Both the rear grip and the vertical forend grip use Hogue's textured rubber with finger grooves for a firm hold while you pump.
- Picatinny Rail Section — A short Picatinny rail, the standardized slotted mount used across the industry, sits on the forend for a light or laser.
- Detachable Side Saddle — A hook-and-loop side saddle on the receiver keeps spare shells within reach and comes off when you want a slimmer profile.
- QD Sling Mounts — Quick-detach sling attachment points let you clip a sling on or off in seconds.
- Cross-Bolt Safety And Cerakote Black — A push-button cross-bolt safety blocks the trigger, and the black Cerakote finish, a baked ceramic coating, resists wear and corrosion.
NFA Status And Build
The Jack is classified under the National Firearms Act as an "Any Other Weapon" (AOW), so it must be registered federally and transferred through the NFA process before you take possession. PTR builds it in the United States, and the receiver is marked Aynor, SC along with the 12 gauge and shell-length stamping. Check your state and local laws before ordering, since some jurisdictions restrict or prohibit AOWs.
