Remington Subsonic 22lr Hollow Point - 225 Rounds

Quiet 22 LR Subsonic

Remington Subsonic is a 22 LR load built to stay below the speed of sound, so it avoids the sharp supersonic crack that standard high-velocity rimfire makes downrange. Shooters running a suppressor on a rifle or pistol get the most from it, though it also suits anyone who wants a quieter round for backyard plinking or pest control. Each box holds 225 rounds of 40-grain copper-plated hollow points, loaded in the USA.

Features

• 22 LR Caliber — Chambered for .22 Long Rifle, the common rimfire round used in most 22 rifles and pistols.
• Subsonic Velocity — A muzzle velocity of 1,050 feet per second keeps the bullet under the speed of sound, so there is no ballistic crack as it travels.
• Suppressor Friendly — With no sonic crack to compete with, a suppressor can bring the report down to the noise of the action and the impact.
• 40-Grain Bullet — The standard 22 LR bullet weight carries more momentum at subsonic speed than lighter high-velocity loads.
• Hollow Point Design — A cavity in the bullet nose is meant to open up on impact, which is why hollow points are preferred for small game and pests.
• Copper-Plated Bullet — A thin copper coat over the lead core helps cut down on lead fouling in the barrel compared with bare lead.
• 225-Round Box — One compact carton holds 225 cartridges, enough for a long range session or several shorter ones.
• Loaded In The USA — The box states the ammunition is loaded in the USA by American workers.

Loading and Use

Rimfire means the priming compound sits in the rim of the case, not in a separate primer, and this round fires in any firearm chambered for 22 Long Rifle. Remington marks the box for target use, and the subsonic speed keeps noise down at the range and on private land where neighbors are close. Expect a lower point of impact than with high-velocity 22 LR, so check your zero before relying on it for small game.
