Woodland Digital M-65

The M-65 is the US military field jacket pattern introduced in 1965, built as a weather shell that layers over a uniform and takes a liner when it turns cold. Rothco's version keeps the original layout of four cargo pockets, a hood hidden in the collar, and drawcords at the waist and hem, then prints it in a woodland digital camouflage. It works as a three-season coat for hunting, yard and ranch work, range days, or everyday wear in cold, wet weather.

• Removable Quilted Liner — An olive quilted liner fits inside for extra warmth and comes out when you only need the shell.
• Stowaway Hood — A hood rolls up inside the zippered collar, out of the way until the weather calls for it.
• Brass Zipper With Storm Flap — The front closes on a heavy brass zipper, covered by a snap-down flap that keeps wind from blowing through the teeth.
• Four Flapped Cargo Pockets — Two chest pockets and two lower pockets close under snap flaps to keep gear from falling out.
• Waist And Hem Drawcords — An interior drawcord at the waist and another at the bottom hem cinch the jacket closer to the body to trap heat.
• Adjustable Cuffs — Tabs at each wrist tighten the sleeve over gloves or bare hands to seal out drafts.
• Shoulder Epaulets — Buttoned straps on each shoulder follow the original M-65 pattern and help hold a sling or strap in place.

Build And Layering

This is a commercial Rothco jacket, not issued surplus, cut in the M-65's loose, hip-length shape so it fits over a hoodie or sweater. With the quilted liner fitted, it handles cold days; with the liner out, the cotton and polyester shell works as a windbreaker and light rain layer in spring and fall. The brass hardware and snap closures are the same style of fittings that made the original a long-serving field coat.
