I bought this thinking that I was buying a multi tool that had a flint and a knife but I just ended up getting an axe and a pair of pliers that I have seen at the dollar store and have to fight to open. I can't get the pliers to work with any kind of leverage and the knife in the handle can barely cut a string on a gift box.

A decent backpackers tool for the most part 0 people found this helpful

A lot has been made about the name of the product, Roxon kieseritzge isnt really known, they did take some of the knowledge from Kieseritge but their main work and focus has been with the Wenger brand which does makes a lot of sense because this company is now making the chinese work horses for backpackers. I had high hopes for the addition of the flint to this product. And was excited to try it out but once it came in i tested it and i got very disappointed because it takes way too long to get the spark. It took 3 full swipes of the knife against my wood pallet just to get it to spark. The first thing i did when it came in was remove the stone. There are 3 blades on this thing which are pretty standard on any good multi-tool. A serrated and a plain edged knife on one end, and a pair of medium sized blades (smallest and largest) with phosphor strip blades. This set up gives it good leverage to open up most backpacker's packs and food containers. I did test it out by cutting my old belt with it, and it went through with ease. It took 2 full swipes on a thin, thin, nylon web belt and I am happy to report that i do not have a huge gap where my belt went through. The handle isnt comfortable for holding and using, but I dont think that anyone expects it to be when they are carrying it. It has been getting a little annoying now and then, but not too bad, the knife does stay in the tool and that's a nice touch. I really dislike the locking system. You cant lock the knife, serrated and medium sized knife. I don't think it's the lock, but just the shape of the knife, when it is locked, the two sides don't quite line up. They are about 1/16 of an inch away from each other when locked and i think that is why it's annoying. The lock does keep the small blades from opening, which is a good thing. The handle also gets in the way of using the medium blades because of the two rid
