The United Defense See-Thru Visible Locksmith Training Padlock lets you watch a lock work from the inside. Its transparent body shows the plug, pins and springs moving as you turn a key or work a pick, so you can see exactly what your hands are doing. It suits beginners learning how pin tumbler locks function, hobbyists practicing lock picking, and anyone teaching the basics to someone else.

- Transparent Body — The clear housing leaves the entire mechanism visible from every side, so nothing happens out of sight.
- Pin Tumbler Mechanism — A row of spring-loaded pin stacks blocks the plug from turning until each one is lifted to the shear line, the gap where the plug separates from the body.

Great Teaching ToolI just started getting into locksmithing as a hobby and this training padlock has been an incredible learning tool. Being able to see exactly how each of the seven pins reacts when I insert the key or use my picks made everything click in my brain way faster than reading a book.
You can actually watch what's happening inside in real time.

This is fun plain and simpleBought this with the lock pick set. It is fun to play with. It is also great as my son liked looking at how a lock works. If you have kids the lock by itself is worth the money. That being said I would not use it as a real lock it is plastic except the tumblers but gives you great insight how put together it works.

FunIt is plastic except the tumblers but really not a disadvantage it has to be to see through it.

Nice educational toolThis is a very nice see through pad lock, I mainly bought this for my son who saw it while I was browsing the website. He likes to understand and figure out how mechanical things work, and take them apart in the process. For the price I did not mind if this was broken while he was trying to figure it out which he has not done yet.
