Full-Size 9mm Duty Pistol

The Smith & Wesson M&P9 is a full-size, striker-fired 9mm pistol built for duty use, home defense and regular range work. Striker-fired means there is no external hammer: the trigger pull is the same from the first shot to the last, which makes the pistol simple to learn and consistent to shoot. The M&P line was designed with police and military users in mind, and that shows in its controls, its grip and the way it field strips.

Build And Ergonomics

The M&P9 pairs a black polymer frame with a black slide that carries rear cocking serrations, a 4.25-inch barrel, and the M&P and Smith & Wesson logos on the left side. The takedown lever sits above the trigger guard, and the pistol field strips for cleaning without tools. Because the M&P9 has been in production for years, holsters, magazines, sights and lights made for it are easy to find.
