Compact Tactical Tomahawk

The SOG FastHawk is a one-handed tomahawk for chopping, splitting kindling and general camp work. It also suits breaching-style jobs where a rear spike is useful. It is short enough to ride on a pack or in a vehicle, and it comes with a fitted nylon sheath so the edge stays covered until you need it. Campers, overlanders and anyone building out a vehicle or bug-out kit will find it a practical size.

Features

• Black-Coated Axe Head — The head has a dark, low-glare finish, and the cutting edge is left bright where it has been sharpened.
• Rear Spike — A pointed spike opposite the blade gives you a second working end for prying, piercing or punching through material.
• Weight-Saving Cut-Outs — One large and one small hole are cut through the head to take off mass without shortening the edge.
• Checkered Top Pad — A textured, crosshatched section on top of the head sits just ahead of the handle socket.
• Bolted Head Attachment — Two screws fix the head's socket to the handle, so the head is secured mechanically and not just press-fitted.
• Ribbed Grip Section — Molded rings along the lower handle give your hand a positive hold when your palms are wet or gloved.
• Lanyard Hole — A hole through the butt of the handle takes a cord or wrist lanyard.
• Fitted Nylon Sheath — The included black sheath covers the head and closes with metal snap fasteners, with grommeted eyelets around the edge for tying it down.

Head, Handle And Sheath

The FastHawk is all black apart from its sharpened edge. A one-piece head with a long socket is bolted onto a molded handle that carries the SOG logo. The handle is plain through the middle and ribbed toward the butt, which places your grip low for chopping power. The sheath follows the shape of the head, so the edge and spike are both covered when the tool is stowed.
