Description
Each Swiss military transport bag offered by Keepshooting.com is, as noted, a Swiss military surplus item. Originally designed for and used by the Swiss army as a sleeping bag transport bag, these bags boast the high quality the world has come to expect from Swiss-made goods. While not quite confirmed, we believe many of these transport bags have been previously issued, though they remain in excellent condition – free from the rips, tears, stains and scents that one would normally associate with used military surplus items.
The Swiss military transport bag is a cylindrical bag constructed entirely of rubberized vinyl. It also offers generous dimensions. With a height of approximately 22.5 inches and a diameter of about 12.5 inches, you can stuff a lot more than your sleeping bag into this one, folks. The tough vinyl material used to produce the bag gives it a waterproof construction. Securing the contents is simple with the drawstring cinch cord. There is even a dust flap sewn into the lining that provides for an extra layer to cover your belongings. The only other notable feature to mention is the inclusion of an identification card slot on the side of the bag, which is perfect if you plan on lugging around your laundry and spending some time at the cleaners.
Take the Swiss military transport bag on your next camping trip. Take it on your next hiking trip. Fill it to the brim with your stinky unmentionables or anything else you wish to keep dry. With the Swiss military transport bag, your imagination is your only limit. Consider this bag for:
- Camping
- Hiking
- Hunting
- Laundry
- Much more…

The swiss build everything great. I wish I had discovered their surplus earlier.
The finish varies, one was gloss, one flat. Mine are definitely unissued with no wear marks or blemishes in the finish that one would expect with usage.
I would say this if for keeping soft goods dry (sleeping bags, clothes, etc) and not for harder and heavier loads. If you compare the gauge of the drawstring to that on the engineers rucksack it is thinner gauge and soft.
I was tempted to ding it for 1 on quality because of the thinner gauge vinyl, but didn't because it is designed to need that level of integrity for what it carries.
And don't use it for soiled laundry, no matter how tempted you are.
I'm happy with them.
