Each Swiss military transport bag offered by Keepshooting.com is, as noted, a Swiss military surplus item. Originally designed for and used by the Swiss army as a sleeping bag transport bag, these bags boast the high quality the world has come to expect from Swiss-made goods. While not quite confirmed, we believe many of these transport bags have been previously issued, though they remain in excellent condition – free from the rips, tears, stains and scents that one would normally associate with used military surplus items.
The Swiss military transport bag is a cylindrical bag constructed entirely of rubberized vinyl. It also offers generous dimensions. With a height of approximately 22.5 inches and a diameter of about 12.5 inches, you can stuff a lot more than your sleeping bag into this one, folks. The tough vinyl material used to produce the bag gives it a waterproof construction. Securing the contents is simple with the drawstring cinch cord. There is even a dust flap sewn into the lining that provides for an extra layer to cover your belongings. The only other notable feature to mention is the inclusion of an identification card slot on the side of the bag, which is perfect if you plan on lugging around your laundry and spending some time at the cleaners.
Take the Swiss military transport bag on your next camping trip. Take it on your next hiking trip. Fill it to the brim with your stinky unmentionables or anything else you wish to keep dry. With the Swiss military transport bag, your imagination is your only limit. Consider this bag for:

Killer deal! These things have so many uses! Waterproof and plenty of room for blankets, pillows, clothes, food, or whatever else you want to throw in them! Great buy from KS! Thanks!!
Based on the reviews I thought I'd order a set. I'm glad I did. Just the proper size as a stuff sack for my kids camp sleeping bags and can label each one so there is no mixup.
thought for sure these might be used. They arrived and are brand new! For the price, unless you get it for free you won't find it at a better price for the quality your getting. if you have a lk35 swiss ruck or even a medium alice pack get one of these and you won't be disappointed
These are not a true "dry bag", they will keep the contents dry, but do not submerge. They are a nice light weight rubberized raincoat material (nylon) in a good color. I'm glad I got these before they were sold. I hope KS will get more for others. 12x20 (not cinched) A lateral tag pocket is sewn onto the bag mid way. A rigid piece of plastic will work well here. I'm thinking a peice of a five gallon bucket lid , or similar (cut to size) will be a perfect solution for a content display.
You can use these bags for anything from clothes to ski boots. The rubberized material is perfect for wet stuff inside or out. Be sure to dry them after use. Use them for your ski boots in the car, sleeping bags on the camp trip, or even fishing gear on the boat. You won't find a better bag around water/ wet stuff. Great value.
All of the other reviews for these bags are spot on in regards to their quality and versatility but just as a FYI. These bags were originally intended to be used as stuff sacks for the Swiss military issued sleeping bag. I have a couple of the Swiss sleeping bags and I have them stored in these transport bags and they are a perfect fit. Hope this review and extra information helps someone else out.
These bags are large, very well built, and brand new. I am going to order more.
The swiss build everything great. I wish I had discovered their surplus earlier.
I have 4 pieces of Swiss gear made out of rubberized vinyl and this is a thinner gauge than the gas mask bags, Engineers rucksack or M90 rucksack. I haven't put this to the test yet and we will see how sturdy it is.
The finish varies, one was gloss, one flat. Mine are definitely unissued with no wear marks or blemishes in the finish that one would expect with usage.
I would say this if for keeping soft goods dry (sleeping bags, clothes, etc) and not for harder and heavier loads. If you compare the gauge of the drawstring to that on the engineers rucksack it is thinner gauge and soft.
I was tempted to ding it for 1 on quality because of the thinner gauge vinyl, but didn't because it is designed to need that level of integrity for what it carries.
And don't use it for soiled laundry, no matter how tempted you are.
I am very pleased with this purchase. Both bags I received were in like new condition; I really do not think they were ever used. I placed my sleeping bag in one; and it fit with some room to spare. The other bag I plan to use as a canoe bag. For the price these bags are an excellent buy; I am thinking about purchasing two more for camping. I would recommend these to a friend if he or she had a need for them.
I've used this for many different things. These are very versatile bags that could be used for almost anything you want to protect from the elements. Very pleased with this purchase.
These collapsible bags seem to be made of the same waterproof material as most swiss military bags. They seem very strong for their weight and were bigger than I had imaged, based on the picture. All around pretty versatile bags for the price.
These bags actually can hold a lot of weight and they are very light and easy to fold, I thought being surplus they would reek but they just had a faint mothball musk that was gone in a day.
I'm happy with them.
