Taurus International Manufacturing, Inc. has an interesting history. It began in 1939, when a small tool and die company was founded in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The company began by producing small tools designed for use in manufacturing processes. In the years that followed, the company branched out to include divisions focused on metals manufacturing, plastics, body armor and, most importantly, firearms. That company is Forjas Taurus, what we commonly refer to as Taurus International. Since its inception, Taurus has had ties to both Smith & Wesson and Beretta, which allowed the company access to information related to the design, manufacture and tooling of some of the world's most popular pistols – including Beretta's 92 series. Since then the company has learned a thing or two and is now one of the largest manufacturers of small arms in the world.
Today, Taurus International offers a wide range of products from revolvers to both steel- and polymer-framed pistols. The company seeks to bolster their lineup with the new Taurus Millennium PRO .40 S&W, a pistol whose design was based around the crisp action provided by the unique double-action/single-action trigger mechanism originally exhibited in the Taurus PT 24/7. As if that were not enough to grab your attention, perhaps its reliability, ease-of-use and safety features will have you considering it for concealed carry.
When it comes to concealed carry, safety is a big concern. While some pistols overdo it, others fall quite short. The Taurus Millennium PRO .40 S&W, however, nails it. With a mix of active and passive safeties that include a loaded chamber indicator, a trigger safety, a thumb safety and Taurus' patented integral security system, the Millennium PRO ensures that discharges will only occur when you deliberately pull the trigger. Having said that, let us check out a few of the Millennium PRO's other features.
The Taurus Millennium PRO .40 S&W features a 3.25-inch barrel and an overall length of 6.125 inches. The stainless steel slides combines with the polymer frame for a pistol that weighs in at just 18.7 ounces. At just over one pound, this is one pistol that is mighty concealable and manageable by just about anyone. As noted, the slide boasts a stainless finish that protects against rust and corrosion. A big draw, however, is the inclusion of Heine® Straight Eight™ sights, which provides for rapid target acquisition with its dot-over-dot sighting system. Other features include a checkered polymer grip, posi-traction slide serrations and the integral security system. As noted, each pistol includes two 10-round magazines.
Best of all, the Taurus Millennium PRO .40 S&W comes with the Taurus Unlimited Lifetime Repair Policy. Taurus International has pledged to repair, free of charge, any firearm manufactured or imported by the company. For details, visit the official website of Taurus International.

The PT140 Millennium Pro is a nice small polymer striker fired handgun that even though it's light and small is easy to shoot in .40 cal. This is the first Taurus I bought and I have never had any trouble from it. After buying more firearms, i gave this one to my mother for home protection and even at 70 has no trouble handling it and I'm sure she would do well if she had to use it. I am a fan of the .40 myself in that it's more effective than a 9mm yet the recoil is manageable. It is even more manageable in my PT 840 which is based on the 24/7 and has a hammer which is a big plus. Bottom line. Nice gun, nice carry size, easy recoil and a good price.
