Thompson Leaf Sight Slide

Thompson Leaf Sight Slide

This United Defense slide is the moving part of the Thompson's adjustable leaf rear sight. The leaf is the hinged, upright blade marked with range graduations. The slide rides up and down the leaf to set elevation, so a worn, bent or missing slide leaves the sight unusable. It suits Thompson owners and restorers who need to put a leaf sight back in working order.

Features

• Leaf Sight Replacement Part — The slide fits onto the leaf of a Thompson adjustable rear sight and moves along it to change the elevation setting.
• Peep Aperture Ring — A round ring with a small hole gives you a peep sight, which you look through so your eye centers itself on the front sight.
• Open Sighting Notch — A notch along the top edge gives you an open sight picture as an alternative to the aperture.
• Open Frame Design — The slide's open rectangular frame lets it wrap around the leaf and travel the length of it.
• Dark Metal Finish — The black finish matches the rest of the sight and cuts down on glare when you aim.
• Compact Single Component — It is a single small part, so you can swap it without replacing the whole rear sight assembly.

Fit and Use

The slide is meant for Thompsons fitted with the adjustable leaf rear sight, which is the sight found on the Model 1921 and 1928 guns. Thompsons with the simpler fixed L-shaped rear sight do not use it. Check your existing sight before ordering. If your Thompson has a folding leaf with range markings, this is the slide that rides on it.
