TT-33 Cleaning Rod

Tokarev Issue Cleaning Rod

This is the steel cleaning rod the Soviet Army issued alongside the Tokarev TT-33 pistol. A rod like this was carried with every TT-33 holster so the soldier could clean the bore in the field without extra tools. Today it suits TT-33 owners who want the correct issue rod for their pistol, and collectors filling out a holster rig.

Features

• Steel Construction — The rod is a single length of steel, stiff enough to push a patch through the bore without flexing.
• Loop Handle — One end is bent into a wide ring that you hook a finger through for grip and leverage as you work the rod.
• Slotted Patch Tip — An open slot near the business end holds a cloth patch, which you thread through and then run down the barrel.
• Tapered End — The tip narrows to a small point that leads the rod and patch into the muzzle.
• Sized For 7.62x25mm — The rod is made for the bore of the TT-33, which fires the 7.62x25mm Tokarev cartridge.
• About 7.25 Inches Long — At roughly 7.25 in (184 mm), it reaches the full length of pistol barrels up to 5 inches.
• Holster Carry — The TT-33 holster has a fitting for the rod, so it travels with the pistol rather than in a separate kit.
• Dark Black Finish — A black finish covers the steel from loop to tip, matching the look of other Soviet small-arms accessories.

Soviet Army Issue

The rod was a standard accessory for Soviet military personnel issued the TT-33, and it formed part of the pistol's carry system together with the holster. Because it is genuine issue kit and not an aftermarket tool, it is the correct piece for anyone completing an original holster setup or a reenactment kit. It also does the job it was built for: keeping a Tokarev bore clean.
