M9A1 Mask Carrier

This is the US Army canvas carrier built for the M9A1 field protective mask, the gas mask issued to American troops during the Cold War era. It held the mask at the soldier's side so it could be pulled out fast. Today it works as a rugged shoulder bag for small kit, and it is also a correct period piece for collectors and reenactors building out an M9A1 display or impression.

Issue and Build

The carrier was made to the Army's own pattern for the M9A1 mask, using canvas, cotton webbing and blackened metal hardware typical of US field gear from that generation.
