Mil-Tec built this boonie hat on the pattern of the US GI jungle hat: a soft crown, a wide all-round brim and a chin cord to keep it on. It shades your face, ears and neck from the sun and keeps rain off your face. The fabric is printed in Flecktarn, the German five-color spotted camouflage, so it pairs well with German-pattern kit. It suits hunters, airsoft players, reenactors and anyone who spends long days outdoors.

Features

• Flecktarn Camouflage — The German five-color pattern uses small overlapping spots of green, brown and black to break up the outline of your head in woodland.
• Poly-Cotton Ripstop — A 65% polyester, 35% cotton blend woven with a reinforcing grid so a small snag cannot run into a long tear.
• Wide Stitched Brim — Rows of stitching stiffen the brim so it holds its shape and shades your face and the back of your neck.
• Foliage Loop Band — A webbing band around the crown is sewn into loops where you can tuck grass, leaves or twigs for extra concealment.
• Ventilation Eyelets — Four metal eyelets in the sides of the crown let heat escape on warm days.
• Adjustable Chin Cord — A braided cord with a sliding toggle tightens under the chin to keep the hat on in wind, or hangs loose behind your neck.
• Lightweight Build — At about 102 g (3.6 oz) it packs flat into a pocket or pack lid when you are not wearing it.
• US GI Pattern — The cut follows the classic US military boonie, with a soft crown that crushes without damage.

Build And Materials

The polyester in the blend gives the ripstop strength and helps it dry quickly, and the cotton keeps it soft and breathable against the forehead. The brim is lined in the same camo fabric and edged with binding. This is a new commercial hat from Mil-Tec, a German outfitter, made to the US GI design and printed in German camouflage.
