USGI Wool Watch Cap - Black

Very warm. I can feel the extra material as the material at the bottom extends down below the watchband so that it doesn't pull tight against the ears. A tight fitting wool cap is one of the best winter accessories.

Wool is a little scratchy, however I would purchase this again

i needed a black wool cap for a formal occasion and wanted to make sure i had something that would keep me warm and was of decent quality. I found this on Amazon, was worried it would be a knock off, but the manufacturer, rothco, is a legit, good brand. I wasnt disappointed, the hat fits well and was of decent quality. ive used it a few times and am impressed with it so far. ive washed it and there was no significant change in the hat, which tells me it is a wool product, but im not sure how much wool is involved, and also how often it needs to be replaced. in any case, it fits well, it is wool, and for the money, its worth it

Thin enough for mild days but warm enough for bitter cold

I had a 100% wool cap similar to this one and it was one of the most comfortable caps I ever owned. When it finally wore out, I decided to get another. This is not exactly the same hat, and while it isn't the thickest wool on the planet, I still like it. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because of the shape of the opening. This isn't bad at all, it just feels a little tighter than my last cap. This may be a function of time and/or shrinkage. This hat also doesn't have quite the bump at the top that the other one did. It's also thinner, but I still think it is a good quality cap and will do what it is intended to do. I am very happy with it. My recommendation would be to get the correct size, or order the next size up if you're unsure. They run small. (Especially the navy blue one.) They do stretch some, but if it feels too tight at first, it will only get worse with wear. Wash them before wearing, and do not put them in the dryer. They are wool. Enough said.

Just what I needed for outside job on cool nights, fits perfect

Good cap, wires at back for venting my hair and staying in place. Fits well. Not much to add to description, I like the quality. I had two made,one gray,one white. Nice and thick so I know its warm. Not a cheap acrylic and its got some length.

The size was just right, even for my head

These are my 2nd pair, have 2 pairs of size 7 and 1 pair of 6. They are made of excellent quality and good warmth for any outdoor conditions. My winter season watch hat. It last a very long time if treated with care. A real bargain for the value of a warm head for winter weather.

Excellent quality hat! Not as warm as wool but nice and toasty. Washes well. One issue: I had stored it in a ziplock bag and after about a year the entire bag became "furry". Fortunately I was able to air it out and brush the offending fur into a pile to vacuum up. It was definitely watchdog fur, nothing to worry about.

This hat fits well and keeps my head warm. It's made of real wool so it will shrink if you wash it in hot water or dry it on high heat settings.
